This year's Missionary Program at St. James CME was truly special. This year's theme was "Christian Women Moving in Faith and Purpose", and it was a true testimony of the St. James women in the action of missionary work and ministry. Mrs. Minnie Burden, who is a faithful and hard-working St. James member, was blessed two-fold, as she assisted in heading up the program and had the double honor and joy of watching her daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Simpson preside over the program as the Honorary Speaker. Sister Simpson is the First Lady of the Temple of Miracle CME Worship Center here in Perry and serves along side of her husband, Pastor John Simpson. She is an educator in the Houston County community and is responsible for many of the wonderful ministries at her church. She, and her husband John, are also former members of St. James Church and she acknowledged her joy and pleasure at "Coming home to share God's Word". | Mark Mitchell, Minister of Music at the Temple of Miracles Worship Center, directs a young musician as he accompanies the singers in musical praise. Mr. Mitchell is the father of the talented Gia Mitchell. He is responsible for many of Perry's musical prodigies who are coached and trained at the Mitchell Academy of Music.

| Before introducing her "Little Sister" to the pulpit, Temple of Miracles CME Worship Center member, Teresa Mitchell "brought the house down" as she poured out her soul in praise and song. Mrs. Mitchell is in the Music Ministry at the Temple of Miracles Worship Center and is also a voice coach at Mitchell's Academy of Music (co-owned with her husband, Mark Mitchell) in Perry. She is also the mother of Gia Mitchell and the daughter of St. James CME member, Mrs. Minnie Burden...truly a spiritual family that has been blessed by God with talents.
