Youth News

The youth meet on Wednesdays this month from 5:30-7:15.

Youth praise band practice will be from 4:30-5:15 on Wednesdays.

The youth had a fundraiser last month selling BBQ plates and a cake auction. We had a awesome turn out! Thank you for everyone who supported us.

The youth program picks up and drops off youth every Wednesday night for those youth who's parents are unable to do so and we are going to start picking up kids from school on Wednesdays instead of going around town before youth to get them. It take over an hour to pick up all the youth and we want to make it an easier process. Because of safe sanctuary policies we need some adults to volunteer to come from 3:30 to 5 and be with myself and the youth. Please contact me if you are interested in helping the youth program in this way!

Tutoring is held at the church every Tuesday night from 6-7 pm. If you would like to volunteer your time or you are interested in getting your child involved you can con- tact Kevin Carter or myself.

You can contact me at hayes.christina2@gmail.com or at 912-347-0109

Feed the Families: Approximately $800 has been raised for our Food Pantry by our change jars located in businesses though out the community. Please support this fundraiser by placing change in the jars and by encouraging your friends to do the same!

To the parents, grandparents and guardians of FUMC: We have sent out a combined permission, release, waiver of liability, indemnity agreement, emergency contact information, and photo permission form to all the children/youth involved in the church. This form will be in compliance with the safe sanctuary policy for the protection of all.

Filling Station

The Filling Station is the $500,000 youth center that opened the summer of 2009. more info

Faithful member of our church Joe Frazier left the funds for the Filling Station in his will.  Mr. Frazier started his business with just one filling station--thus the name of our new building.

  • Youth (middle and high school) meet on Wednesdays 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Filling Station.

We want to protect our children, youth and vulnerable adults and so we have now begun to implement our Safe Sanctuaries policy.
