Our trip to Cedar Rapids this summer was in response to the extensive damage caused by the flooding of the Cedar River in June of 2008. When we arrived in July, the waters had receded for several weeks, however the muck in the basements of these flooded homes still had to be removed. Our work crew consisted of Pastor Andrew Hilla, Sally Hilla, Peter Hilla, Jack Grosvenor, Karen Roed, Katie Roed, John Roed, Doris Van Leeuwen, and Joel Van Leeuwen.
