YOUTH GROUP
Youth Group for High School (Grades 9-12) and for Junior High (Grades 7 and 8) will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm until 9:00pm at the church manse, which is located at 512 South Maple Street, Paullina. The two youth groups meet separately during the school year.
UPY and JETS Youth Groups
The new school year has begun, and we’re having a great time at the Youth Group meetings! If you haven’t seen the improvements to the basement of the manse, please feel free to stop by anytime and take a look at the finished product! All future UPY and JETS meetings will be held at the manse ( 512 South Maple St. ) unless otherwise notified. Since the youth groups continue to have so much fun with the games in the new facility (billiards, foosball, electronic darts, Playstation 2, X-Box 360, and 4 player Gamecube), we have once again extended the hours of the meetings. UPY meetings will generally be held from 6:30pm until 8:00pm but youth are welcome to come and stay from 6:30pm until 9:00pm . PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOURS FOR JETS HAS BEEN CHANGED and will now meet from 6:30pm until 8:00pm, but can also stay an extra hour if they wish (if all of their homework is finished for the next day). Since both groups will be using the facilities on Wednesday evenings, we will continue having UPY meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month and JETS meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. The meeting schedule for October and November follows.
We will continue to supply the youth group meetings with chips, popcorn, pretzels, hot foods, beverages, and other snacks. Parents are also welcome to send along snack foods, bars, or even hot foods for the youth to share during their meetings. We continue to welcome any Christian posters or other items with a Christian theme to help decorate the new youth group meeting room …if you have any appropriate items, please contact Pastor Andrew! We look forward to having lots of fun and growing in our Christian faith at the same time! Your friends are always welcome, so please, bring your friends along to join in the fun and games! (you don't have to be a Presbyterian)!
The Youth Group continues to meet at the Manse. Attendance continues to grow with an average of 10 youth each week. When we figure everyone is here, we begin with a devotional time (min. ½ hr.), and then we enjoy the rest of the time with food and fellowship. Some sit and chat while others play pool, one of the T.V. games or enjoy a little competition between friends with the Dance Revolution game. We also have purchased a volleyball net/badminton set for use during fair weather evenings.
The UPY members had a LOCK-IN last spring along with other church youth groups at the Church of Christ in Sutherland. It was a blast! We will be looking at repeating this very popular event again - perhaps as early as this fall - with the other church groups.
