Footprints

One night I had a dream-- I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.  For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,  one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.  When the last scene of my life flashed before me,I looked back at the footprints in the sand.I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.  "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way,but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints.  "I don't understand why in times when I needed you most, you should leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering.  "When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."     by  Mary Stevenson

Happy  Father's  Day!

Thank You

A special thank you to all of our Sunday School teachers as we bring our educational programs to a close at the end of May.  See you all in September as we begin Sunday School again.

  Bible School

Thank you so much for your response to helping with Bible School.  Even though we started early the recreation programs did interfere and we ended losing some kids.  A special thank you to all the helpers and cookie bakers.  It was a fun time and we are all ready to do it again next year.

Summer Bible Camp

We have 9 kids signed up for camp this summer.  If you would like to go there is still time to get signed up.
Emily Winkel will be attending fun day on June 16.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Jared and Jenny Ackerman as they celebrate their wedding with a reception on June 3.  They were married over the Christmas holidays in Mexico.

Biker's Sunday

Over the past few years we've held a special Sunday in reserve to celebrate the bikers.  We have no plans to hold a special service this year.  Instead we remember the many who ride that each ride might bring them home safe again.

Up date on bathroom and door plans at Zoar

At this time the new doors have been ordered and they will be installed upon arrival.  The bathroom redecoration committee of Ruth Ackerman, Karen Winkel and Diane Bouma will be meeting to make suggestions in reference to decoration up dates.

Looking into a new sound and projection system at Zoar

The session decided to explore some possibilities of up dating our current sound system and adding a possible project system to the sanctuary.  R&D industries have been contacted and are in the process of doing a church need assessment.  Once the results come back a congregational meeting will be held to explore possible additions.

Bible Study in Ashton

All are encouraged to join Pastor Tom as he leads the Bible Study in Ashton.  This is a very unique opportunity to come together and grow in God's word.  The bible study meets each Wednesday evening at 7.

Looking for help

We are still looking for volunteers to help with the sound system at Zoar on Sunday Mornings and special services.  Let pastor know if you would be willing to help out.

Thank You

A special thank you to Bernie Groote and Verlyn Bouma for cleaning up the down tree in the cemetery at Zoar.

June is Men*s Health Month

The purpose of Men*s Health Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. This month gives health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury. The response has been overwhelming with thousands of awareness activities in the USA and around the globe.                                                  The average woman lives to the ripe old age of 80, but the average man lives only to age 75. Moreover, in every age group, men are more likely than women to die, with the leading causes of death for men in the US including heart disease, cancer, injuries, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, infections such as flu and pneumonia, and suicide
1. Bolster Your Immune System

2. Prevent Early Onset of Heart Disease

  3. Get Early Cancer Screenings

4. Recognize and Treat Depression

5. Reduce Stress
