CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

There are many varied activities and programs for children.

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASSES:

There are age-graded, age appropriate Bible Study classes for all children, birth through sixth grade which start at 9:45 am.

NURSERY:

There is a nursery for those parents who wish to use it for children birth through age four just off the sanctuary. It is staffed with qualified members of our church or if you wish you may stay there with your child and see and hear the service.

CHILDREN'S WORSHIP:

Just after offering in the morning worship service children age five through the fifth grade may go to Children's worship. They sing, have Bible stories, and do various other activities while worship services continues with preaching. Children are always welcome to stay in the main worship service. Children's worship is provided as an option for those parents who chose to use it.

AWANA CLUBS:

Tuesday evenings begin with a children's menu meal served at 5:30 to 5:55. This is done  so families can eat together before AWANA clubs begin.

You might ask what is AWANA? AWANA is a parachurch children's and youth ministry committed to "reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him". This is the end result but the method is fun! The name AWANA was an offshoot of the organization's key verse, taken from 2Timothy 2:15 in the Bible: Approved ...Workman... Are... Not... Ashamed. The heartbeat of AWANA is reaching children around the world with the good news that God is Real, that He loves them and expressed that love through Jesus Christ. Each week one million plus boys and girls in more than 110 countries attend AWANA clubs where they play games, memorize bible verses, and listen to Bible stories. From preschool to high school, children and youth have fun while being taught the Word of God.
The weekly Bible clubs all function basically the same way. They start at 6:00 pm for a one-and-a-half to two hour club session featuring three segments: Game time, Handbook time, and Group time. During Game time boys and girls play games around the unique AWANA game circle. In handbook time children work through age appropriate handbooks memorizing Bible verses and doing activities ranging from patriotism to community service. They earn awards based on their work. The final segment, group time, consists of singing, puppets, Bible stories and lessons based on Christian principles. Guest speakers thrill the clubbers when we can have them.
