Our Mission Verse

John 21:17 (NKJV)

He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?"

And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You."

Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

God Transformed My Heart, Where’s Yours?
Jerry Davis
July 5, 2005
You see, I have always lived a self absorbed and selfish lifestyle, thinking of no-one but myself. If it wasn’t about me or if there wasn’t something in it for me, I wanted nothing to do with it. I never really gave much thought to the people in this world who were hurting. Homelessness, Hunger, Poverty, Addiction, Battered Women, and Abused Children, were the furthest thing from my mind. They were always someone else’s problem. Besides none of that stuff goes on around here, right?   more...

Just a quick note letting everyone know that we had a good day at Fairmont Park in Riverside passing out back packs to the homeless.

What an awesome day !

I am sure that you can talk to any of the people that joined us today and they would agree.

Our team met up with a ministry from Crest Community Church of Riverside and together we spent part of the day reaching out and loving those that many have forgotten. I know that I was blessed and I am sure that everyone who was there today will tell you the same. Praise God for all that was provided and for all those who were there to help.

Thank you to everyone for your support and for your prayers.

There are many more such projects being planned and we look forward to working with the group from Crest Community and other's in the near future. So if you missed this opportunity to be involved, there will be another soon.

We want to thank all those who donated to this project and those who helped with the planning and organizing. Thank you to all those who came out and helped put the pack packs together and those who made the trip to Riverside to spend the day with the homeless in the Park. Thank you and may God Bless each and everyone of you.

Speaking of the day in the Park. I am sure that everyone of us was touched by a certain little 4 year old who has been living in and around Fairmont Park for over a year now. She is a beautiful little girl with a beautiful smile and a great imagination. She needs our prayers and I would like everyone to remember her in your prayer time.

There are many stories that can be told from this day, and I'm sure that we will be sharing them with everyone soon. I know that I personally was touched deeper then I ever thought I would be, and its going to take some time for it all to process.

Bless All of You in His Name,

jerry

I Just Wanted to Take a Nap....... (Part 1)
Jerry Davis
August 22, 2005
I’m sure that I feel asleep pretty quickly and that I was sleeping really hard, the evidence being the drool on my pillow when I was awaken by the ringing of the phone once again. If only I had thought of turning the phone off when I laid down for my nap, I thought to myself as I reached for it. Looking at the caller I.D., I saw my friend Omar’s name and realized that I had forgotten a commitment that I had made to him the day before. We had made plans to go and pass out some of the back packs that our ministry had put together for the homeless in the area. To be honest, there was a split second of thought not to answer it, to just ignore the ringing and shut it off. I could make my excuses later. As I did answer it, I wanted to tell him we would have to do it another time, because I was tired and not feeling well. As I started to make my excuses, I heard the excitement in Omar’s voice. I think his first words were, “Are you ready to go do God’s work?” Well, so much for excuses and so much for that nap I was looking forward to taking.   more...

I Just Wanted to Take a Nap (Part 2)

As Omar explained to him that we were there to bring him a gift and that it was from God; Joseph’s eyes seemed to light up. Omar told him that the back pack contained food, a bible and some other items that he could use. This is the point where I watched a seemingly hard man become a teary-eyed grateful child of God. Joseph was very thankful for the gift that God sent us to take to him and he expressed it with his words and his tears.   more...

First Home Delivery of Food
May 24, 2005
Hello Everyone'

Just wanted to take a second and let everyone in our "Group"  know that today Ron and I made our first home delivery to someone who needed food assistance.
I had gotten a phone call lastnight at around 12:30am from a person asking for some assistance. So Lydia called this person back this afternoon and made arraignments for Ron and I to drop off a couple of bags of food this evening.
They were very grateful to God for what he provided for them through our group and our church.

I just wanted to share this with you and thank all of you for making this possible.

 God Bless you,

jerry

First Back Pack for the Homeless is Distributed

Sent: Monday May 16, 2005

Hi Jerry, Gloria and I drove by Euclid and the 10 fwy a couple of times today looking for the man I was going to give the pack to. Unfortunately he was not there today, but on my way to the dentist on 4th st and Mountain ave. We saw a woman with a sign standing in the driveway to the shopping center. She said she was homeless and needed help. We asked her if she needed some food and that our church was starting a food program. She was very happy to get the pack.  She kept saying, "God bless you" to us, I think she was very happy that we stopped.

One thing I was thinking about for the homeless, when we give them canned food do they have a can opener? I asked this lady today and she said that she did have one. I'm not sure if anyone else thought of this but, it would be hard to have a bunch of canned food and no way to get it open.
             God Bless,       David and Gloria.

“Free Delivery,” the Adventures of Two Milk Men
Chris Taillon
May 23, 2005
On last Thursday after John, Jerry, and I were done volunteering at the GAP we were blessed to receive about thirty bags of food for our food drive. Also included in that were about 62 half gallons of milk! Needless to say we needed to devise a way to get that milk to some people that could use it. We had hoped to get some to Pacific Lifeline but, got the message to them too late on Friday and had not head back from them yet. Now knowing in my mind that if we had not have taken it the GAP would have had to throw it out, the thought was in my mind that the easy thing to do would be the same “we’ll just have to throw it out “. That could be done from the comfort of my home.   more...

You never know “Who” God will use, or
Jerry Davis
May 6, 2005
Ed is a man that God introduced me to today. Ed can’t work anymore. He has lost his part of a business that he worked many years to build and grow. Ed has all kinds of problems with his health that the doctors think it has to do with some chemicals that he was exposed to during the Vietnam War. Ed walks with a cane and the doctors have told him that in a couple of years he won’t even be able to do that anymore. They say the pain will be too much for him, and that someday he may have to have his legs amputated. He has many other health problems and is on all kinds of medication. Ed is going through depression and is discouraged. He is angry and feels that God has left him and has let him down. My new friend Ed really needs your prayers. Please pray for him.   more...

Together, we can bring this Vision Alive
Jerry Davis
(This is about the vision of Grace Recovery Ministry and our Community Outreach Program.) A little over six months ago , while in Illinois , I started a little web site called www.GraceRecoveryMinistry.org (Grace Recovery Ministry). I first had the idea for the web site, so that I could stay in contact with our recovery group at Solid Ground Church in Alta Loma Ca. Soon after the web site got off the ground it became very clear to me that God was in control, and that he had plans for Grace Recovery Ministry to be more then just a web site. Things have been happening ever since. God has brought me back home to California, our recovery group is growing and lives are being changed. All for the Glory of God. A while back I brought up the vision God gave me for a food bank or something along that lines to our pastor and a couple of other people. Myself not really knowing much about such a project or where to even start, and not knowing who to go to for advise or even what to ask. The whole idea seemed impossible and a little crazy. I had come to a point where I didn’t believe it could be done, not by me anyway. But the idea continued to come up every now and then. I wanted to let the idea go, BUT God had other plans.   more...
