Our Ministries
Ministry takes many forms and happens in diverse ways, but it all focuses on loving God and loving others. As a congregation we grow in our faith through Bible study, we serve our neighbors by helping those in material and spiritual need, and we build community through fellowship. Here's a description of just some of the activities and opportunities for spiritual growth we offer. If something interests you, feel free to contact the church for more information or meeting times and please know you are always welcome!
Bible Study - Our pastor hosts a regular Bible study for anyone interested. Usually held on a week night, this is a chance to read Scripture together, understand its meaning, and discuss how it applies to life today. This is open to new Christians, seasoned Bible readers, and everyone in between!
Christian Men's Fellowship - Once a quarter (4 times a year), the men from our congregation and two other Disciples churches in the area gather for food, fellowship, and a faith-related program.
Christian Women's Fellowship/Marmaru Circle - These two women's fellowship groups meet every month to talk about faith, share in devotions, discuss reading selections, and engage in other activities.
Church Administration and Leadership - Elders, Deacons, the Church Board, and committee work are all important aspects of congregational life. These groups meet regularly to ensure the functioning of the church and attend to the spiritual health of the congregation.
Pastoral Counseling - Having a rought time lately? Need help and don't know where to turn? Have a quesiton about God that's been nagging at you recently? Our pastor is available to sit down and talk through what is on your mind. All conversations are confidential, just contact our pastor to arrange a meeting.
Monthly Potluck - Food and fellowship happens the first Sunday of each month after morning worship. The food is provided, so the only thing you need to bring is yourself!
SHINE Club - An after school program and youth group for kids that meets on Wednesdays during the school year. Food, games, and other activities are provided.
Sunday Morning Worship - Singing, Preaching, Prayer, and Communion are all a part of our worship service each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Whether you're curious about church, asking questions about God, looking for a church home, or a long-practicing Christian, there's always a place for you on Sunday morning. There's also no dress code, so come as you are!
Sunday School - A time for studying Scripture and reflecting on faith that happens each Sunday at 9:45. There's classes for people of all ages and every place in their walk of faith.
In addition to the activities happening inside our walls, our church and members are engaged in many ministries outside our church doors. We help to plan ecumenical services on Good Friday, Thanksgiving, and other holidays. We serve in Church Women United, help at The Closet (a local second hand store), and deliver food to shut ins. We participate in CROP walks to combat hunger and we attend denominational gathers.
God blesses each of us with different gifts and called to serve in different ways, but we are all part of the Body of Christ!
