PHILOSOPHY

Children are special gifts from God. They need love, care and guidance. Families are being challenged to adjust to differing expectations in meeting their child’s needs. Cultural and economic climates are causing the home environment to change and increasing the demand for outside care for children. ABBA Christian Childcare was established to help families fill these expectations within a Christian atmosphere.

Child care at ABBA is not intended to replace parental care and interest but to enhance the child’s life experience while separated from the parents.

Our environment provides opportunities for spiritual growth, independence, inner discipline, self-worth and respect for others. Learning and exploring at ABBA is an enjoyable adventure within safe and caring bounds. ABBA provides a planned climate for adventure.

The Teaching Staff at ABBA are Trained Professionals with over 100 years experience.

DISCIPLINE POLICY

The Bible, the philosophical basis for ABBA’s Christian Childcare Program assumes that discipline is a necessary part of the total development of the children. A child is much happier with boundaries, for it is in this way that they learn respect and obedience. Children learn that there are natural consequences for their behavior, both positive and negative.

The purpose of our discipline policy is to foster in the child an understanding that there are limits in the environment and to integrate that understanding into the total child care program. The ultimate goal of discipline is to place less emphasis on adult control and greater emphasis on the child’s development of self-discipline. Self-discipline cannot be achieved except in a caring environment of freedom within clear set limits.

Children will be encouraged towards appropriate behavior through positive tone of voice and praise. Positive democratic discipline provides an atmosphere where learning and development occur as each child explores.
