February 08, 1998, Asian Indian Lutheran Ministry has been started at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Chicago, IL, with the help of English District (LCMS) to reach Asian Indians with the Word of God. This Ministry located at  Bethesda because the Church is existing four blocks north from Devon and Western where many Asian Indian and Pakistani people meet for bussiness. Most Asian Indians from all over the suburbs and other places of North America, come here to buy glossaries and other things. Most of them are more positive to hear the Gospel than back home. So we are using this opportunity to reach many non-Christians with the Word of God, by giving Gospel tracts and New Testaments in various languages of India, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu including English.

VISION:

The vision of this ministry is to peach the Good news of our Lord Jesus Christ to Hindus and Muslims of India, especially who speak Telugu language of Andha Pradesh State. And to start worship and Bible Study groups in the Chicago area with the love of Christ by friendship, and care. 

OBJECTIVES:

• We invite non-Christians for special occasions, such as Christmas, India’s Independence Day, our fellowships and we share the Gospel with them.

• We invite both Christians and Non-Christians to our family occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries and thanksgiving prayer meetings.
• Sending greeting cards for specially occasions.
• Lenten family prayer meetings and visiting homes.
• We organize Gospel meetings once in a year with a special speaker from India.
• We lead youth retreats, Sunday Schools and leadership trainings.
  

MEASURES:

• Helping new immigrants to find jobs and teaching English by ESL classes. 
• Training more Church leaders to reach many non-Christians in their neighborhoods.
• Baptism classes for new believers who wants to be baptized
• Membership classes by teaching Luther’s Small Catechism
