Welcome to Salem United Church of Christ.
We have been worshiping in our location near Lena, Illinois for 150 years.
The congregation was founded in 1854 by a group of families who emigrated to Stephenson County from the Lippe-Detmold area of Germany.
Our worship is traditional while also being warm and informal. We are always delighted to see new faces on Sundays and hope you will feel free to make yourself at home with us.
We are known in the area as "The Old Stone Church with the Lighted Cross," and hope that our lighted cross shines as a beacon of faith and hope across the Illinois prairie fields.
