Christianity 101 meets the 2nd & 4th Sundays, 11:30 a.m. in the 1st floor classroom.  We meet May 11

Faith Conversations (open to all) meets the 1st and 3rd Sundays, 11:30 am in the Lounge. We will have class May 4.

Friendship Circle will meet on May 19, at 6:30 pm in the Lounge.  Please meet us for movie night and pizza.  Hostesses are Mari Kolb and Aldona Kitt.  All women of the church are welcome.

 

Calling All Gardeners!!!  Our church needs extra help to keep our flower and shrub areas around the church clean and neat and free of weeds and trash.  Please see or contact Betty Koenig 708/482-4267 to take a small/large garden area for the growing season.

Please stop by the table in the narthex, we have an old photo from the early days of our church, see how many people you can identify.

 

Please use our Ministry of Touch cards, located in the Red Books in your pew.  When you want to pray for someone or just send them a note of encouragement, fill out a card and put it in the offering plate or give it to the Board of Parish Fellowship.   We will mail it out.  Just a little note and a prayer can make all the difference in the world for someone hurting!

Our Annual Pet Blessing will be on Saturday May 17th at Noon.  Bring ANY pet!!

 

We will have a Youth Overnight on May 16/17!!  Come, bring $4 for food and a favorite game to play, video game to play, or movie to share!!

St. John UCC is in need of:  Dry goods such as pasta, cereal, rice and beans for their food pantry, workers to help in the pantry on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am—2 pm, youth groups to help with rummage sales on the 2nd Saturday of each month, and financial assistance.  Any way you can help, is greatly appreciated.  In addition, if you can help our Missions Board deliver items on any Tuesday or Wednesday, please call Jan Monahan.  The hours of operation are 10 am—2 pm.

 

The Christian Brothers Golf Outing will be on Wednesday, May 28 at Flag Creek, Dinner after at 6:00 pm at Wolf’s Head.  Call Hans by May 19 if you are golfing 708/345-9156.

The Board of Parish Fellowship  has note cards for sale in the Narthex, these beautiful cards have a drawing of our church done by Hedy Kniesel.  They are on sale 10 for $2.  Please put money in the plate marked Parish Fellowship.

 

The Board of Deacons cordially invite you to be a greeter on any given Sunday, please see Dianne Diaz or Kathy Triska to sign up!  This is a wonderful way to welcome fellow parishioners and visitors.  On the Sunday you’ve chosen please be at church by 9:30 am and wear your nametag.  You’ll enjoy the warm friendly feeling it gives you to exchange handshakes and hugs!!!

 

1st Car Wash of the Season:  Please help raise money for our youth for their mission trip.  Cost is $5 per car, $8 per truck or van—Saturday, May 17, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
