Loving God and Caring for Our Community Since 1954

THANKYOUS

Dear Pastor Joe, We can’t thank you enough for your kindness and blessings for our Dad and Mom over the years.  You made sure they knew you cared about them and were loved by the Lord.  Thank you also for the time you’ve spent with our family, Scott, Lynne, Patrick, Jenny Michael, Ron & myself to pray and mourn.  Love, Jan Julian

Dear Pastor, As Chairman of Lexington Square’s Worship Committee I want to take the opportunity to thank your for your presentation of the special Veterans Independence Day Worship.  The telephone and personal remarks made by residents was overwhelming.  Here are some:  fantastic, best program of the year, terrific, marvelous, I thought you were Billy Graham speaking and many other messages.  Pastor you are the greatest and God Bless You.  Ray Urbans

To our Wonderful Church, Thank you so very much for  your prayers and support given us and Ulla Rose/Lindstrom during the last 2 years.  As  you know we laid Ulla to rest on June 25th.  The memorial service was wonderful.  A big reason for that was you allowed Pastor Joe take part in the service.  Need I say he was at his best.  Many people that were there complimented his part of the service.  Most of them were Salvationists (from the salvation army) officers who took part and soldiers (members of the congregation in the army) he did you proud.  The Lindstroms Carl, Pat, Ken, Wendy, Karen & Kathy

Pastor Joe and church members,  Thank you for all your warm thoughts and prayers as our mother has been going through this difficult illness.  It’s meant so much to the family that you have taken time out of your busy schedule to pray with our mother.  John Schultz & Family

Dear Rev. Mills, I am writing to thank you for your continued support of the United Church of Christ and the Illinois Conference.  We thank you for your contributions to Our Church’s Wider Mission and the ongoing ministry of our denomination and our conference.  Thank you for being faithful and providing financial evidence of your support by participating in Our Church’s Wider Mission.  We pray that God continues to bless you and your ministry.  The Rev. Dr. Melbalenia D. Evans, Acting Associate Conference Minister

Dear sister churches and friends of St. John Church, We are still struggling with our budget issues here and I was able to receive my salary this month.  However I had to personally pay our organist, custodian and pantry staff out of my own pocket.  Our enthusiasm always remains high here at St. John Church because we are aware of the importance of our vital mission work.  Our bulletins on Sunday say, “A church exists by mission as fire exists by burning!” If there is a way for us to enhance your mission work please join  us.   We are in a crisis like Joplin, MO in that we have 1100 people every month who need food from our food pantry so that they do not go to bed hungry.  We need to be able to pay our utilities and staff.  Know that  your prayers are appreciated and felt here at St. John Church.  Rev. Dr., Charlotte Nold

I know it is a little late in coming but I want to thank Pastor Joe and Barb for being among the guests surprising me at my recent birthday party.  My children surprised me by having a party at the home of my son Tom and family in  Plainfield.  It is wonderful to know that my Pastor and Barb took time out of their busy schedule to help me celebrate!  Shirley Slanker
