First Baptist Church of Scottsburg

The Youth of First Baptist set out to find a new hangout spot in the church that they could make their own. Orignally they wanted to remodel the old balcony but after further consideration settled on three separate rooms on the third floor. Their plan was to knock out the walls between the rooms to creat one big room. Tearing out the old walls that were built in 1960 was a challenge but they managed it through team work and dedication.  Below are pictures of the room now finished and just before it was finished. The walls have been torn out and cleaned up, new drywall has been applied and a fresh coat of paint to all of the walls. There is also new carpet in the entire room!

This room is where the youth meet on Sunday evenings. It is their game room as well as their classroom. To top it off there is now complete wireless access in this south wing of the building.

Pictured above is the smaller side of the room, and the second door, with the new carpet layed and all painting completed.

The picture above shows the main part of our room with the new carpet. The room is now ready for the youth to move all of their stuff in.

This is a view from the far corner in the largest part of the room looking right where one of the existing walls used to be.

Above shows the larger part of the room taken from the smaller section to the right finally completed.

This is a view from the middle of the room closest to the door looking at the corner where the picture to the left was taken. You can see where the existing walls used to be because the ceiling is lower in these places.

This is another view of the room before carpet and all of the trim work is done.

Come and join us every Sunday Evening at 7:00 p.m. for youth group. It usually lasts for about an hour and a half.
