Church Mission Statement
We serve God by ministering to the members of our congregation and community both at home and abroad, reaching out to all. We give totally of ourselves because of our love of Jesus Christ.
Our Beliefs
We believe in the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testament as the Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct. We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
God's gift of grace is available to all who confess they are sinners and claim Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the world. Church membership is open to all who believe in the new life that only comes through Christ and desire relationship with him.
Church History
Over 100 years ago in 1897, Swedish immigrants started this congregation in the Donaldson area meeting in a small white church building. In 1968 the Swedish Mission church merged with the Evangelical United Brethren church and became the Evangelical Covenant Church. They met in the red brick church building in Donaldson, which is still standing.
In 1975 the current building was completed, which is accessible for people with disabilites. Throughout its history the congregation has been involved in many community service projects, refugee resettlement, and missionary support through the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Currently we support the Neighborhood Food Pantry, Marshall County Care and Share, The Covenant "Break the Chains" Project against human trafficking, and missionaries to Japan.
