Description of Activity

All year long

Family Emergency Shelter

Collect non-perishable food items, paper products, cleaning or laundry supplies.  Prepare a meal for 20 residents and deliver it to the shelter.  Good for a group or family activity.  Call Lillie for details/arrangements.*

Food Pantry

Help stock shelves and prepare groceries for clients.

Collect nonperishable foods, cleaning, laundry or personal hygiene supplies.

Emergency Disaster Services

Training Seminar attendance required prior to becoming a registered volunteer.

Sort donated clothing and assist clients in obtaining clothing for work, school, etc.

Community Care Ministries

Deliver Easter gifts to nursing and Veterans home residents.  Gifts provided by The Salvation Army.

Sign up January 1 – April 15

(Actual event  April 20^th)

Homeward Bound Walk

5K walk to raise funds for the Emergency Family Shelter.  A “virtual” walk for those who can’t participate in the actual walk is available.

Tools For Schools Event

Collect and distribute new school supplies for the first day of school.

Early November

Winter Warm up

Help set up donated winter clothing for our clothing distribution to individuals and families needing winter clothing.

November – December

Bell Ringers

Individuals, families, businesses and groups are needed to “ring the bell” at one of our kettle sites.  The money raised is used at Christmas and throughout the year to provide financial assistance to needy families.

Toy Shop Set Up and Toy Shop Distribution

Prepare boxes of new toys and clothes for each family receiving assistance for Christmas.  Assist parents as they obtain Christmas presents for their children.
