Annual turkey dinner

The Batesville United Methodist Church will be having their Annual Turkey Dinner on Saturday, November 8, 2008.

Carry outs will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will run until 6:30 p.m. The Country Style dine-in meal will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will run until 6:30 p.m.

The cost for the event is $8.00/adults and $5.00/child (12 and under)

Please remember to bring in your donated items that you have agreed to. Also, if you have signed up to help to work at the event, make sure that you show up at your given time. We will be needing all of the help from everyone to make this year yet another success!!

A group of us are trying to form a United Methodist Women’s Circle. If you want a challenge for spiritual growth, social action and community outreach, please join us.

A meeting will be held Thursday, December 11^th at LaRosa’s. Try to be there by 6:30 p.m. Let’s break bread and discuss the possible future of this group. This includes all women, ages 15 to 115.

Dale Carnegie once advised us to count our blessings, not our troubles. After becoming more involved in helping others, we may realize that our problems are minor.

Hanging of the Green

The Hanging of the Green Service has been slated for November 30th at the 10:00 a.m. Service.

Pastor Larry brought this special service into being at our Church 5 years ago which involves the congregation with the decorating of the Sanctuary and also learning some of the history behind why certain items are used during the Christmas Season.

Please plan to attend this fun-filled service and learn a little history of the Hanging of the Green!!

Snack & Chat

You are all invited to try out our new event called the "Snack and Chat." The Fellowship Committee will have coffee and snacks on a monthly trial basis beginning Sunday, Nov. 9, after the 11:00 service. The time will change each month, alternating between 9A.M. and 11 A.M. so everyone has the opportunity to attend. Normally, it will be the third Sunday each month, but we will kick it off for the first time on the Sunday after our Turkey Dinner and celebrate our great efforts from the dinner. Grab some coffee and a treat and have some good conversation. Hope to see you all there.

Chrismons at Church

Make sure to mark your calendars and bring the kids and grandkids to the 10:00 a.m. service on December 21^st for the annual presentation of the Chrismons.

Batesville UMC Christmas Outing at the Sherman House

Our Church will be having its annual Christmas Outing on Sunday, December 14, 2008.

The festivities will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. This will be a buffet-style dinner. The inclusive cost is $12/person and $6/kids (12 & under). Games and prizes will also be presented.

A sign-up sheet will begin soon at the Church services.
