Pastor Larry Marhanka was born at Schneck Memorial Hospital on October 29, 1948 to Mr. and Mrs. Paddy and June Marhanka of Seymour, Indiana.
The Marhanka family added a daughter, Margie, in 1953, and later moved to Greensburg, Indiana. Little brother Darin was added to the family in 1964.
Following graduation from Greensburg High School, Pastor Larry enrolled in the Porter Business College. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War Conflict. After his honorable discharge, Pastor Larry went to work at Delta Faucet in Greensburg in the Quality Control Department for 9 1/2 years.
Pastor Larry met his wife of 34 years during this time, Faye Carroll. Together, they have three children: Jason, Courtney, and Rachel. They also have been blessed with four wonderful granddaughters: Jada, Paisley, Kierra, and Emelia.
Pastor Larry honored the calling of the Lord by entering the ministry in 1980, serving two small rural churches while attending college and seminary. He received his Undergraduate Degree from Indiana University in Sociology and Psychology. Pastor Larry then attended the United Methodist related Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where he received his Masters of Divinity.
Pastor Larry has since served six Charges in the past 28 years of ministry. He serves on 2 Conference-wide committees and 2 District sub committees. He has full elder status.
Ouside of the Church, Pastor Larry likes to fish, collect Roseville Pottery, golf, work outdoors, and work on geneology.
