Membership
Any parent or guardian whose child is currently enrolled in St. Xavier or any teacher currently employed by the school is a member of the St. Xavier School Parent-Teacher Organization.
Purpose
The St. Xavier PTO is a volunteer organization that works to provide active support for the school administration and faculty through the utilization of parental talents and resources, promote Catholic education within the community, and promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, church and community.
PTO is exempt from paying income taxes on money earned as a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as from time to time amended, which describes exempt organizations as those which are organized and operated exclusively fro charitable and educational purposes.
ACTIVITIES
The St. Xavier PTO plans and hosts the following activities: Fall Festival and Carnival, Fall Product Sales, Santa's Secret Workshop and Family Fun Night during Catholic Schools Week.
Through these activities, the PTO is able to benefit our students and faculty by:
- improving the high school and elementary school libraries ($1000 annually)
- supplementing art supplies for students ($250)
- modernizing the elementary school playground ($500 annually)
- contributing to the cost of field trips for each child enrolled in the school
- hosting a cookout for students, faculty, and staff at the end of the academic year
- providing receptions for First Communion, Career Day, DARE Graduation, St. Xavier's Feast Day, Welcome Back to School Social, Catholic School's Week
- giving our faculty and staff a small token of appreciation each month and on special occasions such as birthdays, Secretary's Day, and Teacher Appreciation Day
- offering a scholarship for a graduating senior
- providing additional funds for items not included in the school budget
Meetings
The PTO meetings will be held on the fourth Monday evening of each month. your attendance is greatly appreciated. Together we can accomplish wonderful things and provide a better education and future for our children.
