Energizing people for life and service...

Monthly Report

The UMW Ladies met on May 22 with 14 members present. We were glad to have president Mary Williamson back with us after a short hospital stay.

Ruth Knutter presented the program on Racial Justice, combined with culture of World Peace.  After the group sang “let There Be Peace On Earth”,  we all enjoyed a nice walk through the labyrinth of the Peace Garden, stopping along the way for prayers and meditation. It was a very moving experience.  Please continue to save your Best Choice and Campbell’s labels, and remember to recycle!

Our next meeting will be on June 26 at 2:00 P.M. We would love to have all church women join us. Please remember that Christ is the same today. As he was yesterday and will be tomorrow.

NUTS!   NUTS!   NUTS!    NUTS!

Our annual nut sale is in full swing, and we appreciate your orders. There’s still time to order more as you begin your Thanksgiving and Christmas baking.  Just ask any UMW lady, or forms are available in the church lobby.

Our District fall meeting was held at Blue Ridge Blvd UMC on October 13. Our group had 13 in attendance, tying with one other group, and we received a book for our library.  Mary Williamson was formally recognized as the “Woman of the Year in Missions”, and presented a lovely plaque.  We also received the “love award”, the highest available award.  Thanks, UMW women, for your continued support.

Officers for the 2008 year were named as follows: President Mary Williamson; Vice President Ruth Knutter; Secretary Sue Jones; and Arlene Bunce Treasurer. There will be an installation of officers at a later date.

Please remember to save your CAMPBELL’S & BEST CHOICE labels. There are marked containers outside the Church Office for this purpose.

“Rise!   Shine!  Glorify God!
