“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved” (Acts 2: 46-47). Greetings in Christ, Allow me to begin by welcoming our newest member. Precious Marie Lee made her profession of faith and was baptized into our church family April 7th. What a victory! This is our second celebration of salvation in consecutive months, and our seventh new addition… WOW! And God is still adding! Even now we eagerly anticipate the baptism of Jordan Louise Oliver White during the morning worship service May 5th. Don’t miss the celebration. Isn’t it exciting to see God busy at work growing HIS church? I am also very excited about our Wednesday Night activities. Our weekly fellowship meal presents a unique opportunity to do ministry as we are all ministered to. If you are not currently serving as part of the preparation or clean-up crews, allow me to encourage you to allow God to use you. It is amazing how much love you will experience as you give of yourself in the service of our Lord! But the fellowship meal is only the appetizer. The main course is found in our youth and children’s ministries. Wednesday nights are designed to be both fun as well as informative. When added to regular Sunday-school and weekly worship attendance, participation in Wednesday night activities helps us all grow in love and knowledge of our God. If prayer is the work of the church, you are invited to roll up your sleeves and bow your hearts. At 6:15 a prayer circle meets in the sanctuary to offer the weekly church prayer list in an act of intercessory prayer before the Lord. And then… after the main course, desert is served. For years now we have employed movies, or various well- known TV series to present modern parables to help unlock Biblical truths. It is certainly an untraditional way to do Bible Study, but it works. But how about using “The Bible” to unlock the Bible? What a novel idea! Beginning May 15th Wednesday Nights will feature clips from the History Channels’ 10 hour docudrama “The Bible.” Created by producer Mark Burnett, and featuring an international cast that includes Roma Downey (from Touched by an Angel), we can now watch as sacred text come alive. Episodes will include Noah and the Ark, Moses and the Exodus, and of course stories from the life and ministry of Jesus. For me, this is without question the most exciting “Dinner and a Movie” ever. Will you share in the excitement? Remember, “Relationships are like bank accounts … the more you put in, the faster the interest will grow.”
Together in HIS service, Bro Tim

RECYCLE FOR A PICNIC TABLE Recycle for a Picnic Table, want to help rid the world of all the lids that are thrown into the trash every day? Want to help recycle a product that can be made into something useful and made from recycled products? We’re starting a new project here at church that will only require you to “look around, take any lid off of any sort of product, bring it to church” and we’ll soon have a brand new recycled picnic table to be enjoy by everyone. This is a simple project that everyone in the church can be involved in without spending any money ( now that’s a deal for sure!!! ) We’re going to start collecting any sort of lid off of any sort of product to be recycled into a picnic table that can be used outside. The picnic table is made from the lids that are recycled, melted down, & molded into a picnic table 1000lbs. of lidsare needed to have the picnic table made. We also have to pay a fee for the meltdown and assembly, but a small price to pay for a recycled picnic table. Any type of lid can be brought in off of any type of product. Examples of lids are: shampoo, toothpaste, lotions, deodorant, medicine, butter, ketchup, soft drinks, water, juice, milk, any take out drink lid, spices, 5 gal. lids of products in bulk, and the list just keeps on going. Everywhere you look, there are lids that are begging for you to “take them off and recycle them”. Get a bag, box or drawer and pitch the lids in till it’s full, bring to church and we’ll store them till we get enough to take a load to Evansville. Every lid helps, so get all your friends and family involved in this “recycling project”. This will be a long term project that we hope everyone will help “pitch in, recycle and enjoy” as a church. Many schools are doing this project and have already gotten benches, just this school year. Sooo, look around and start saving those lids for a picnic table for our church. There will be pictures up around the church of types of lids to be saved and the containers will be placed in different areas so you can “recycle those lids”. ABC Bench Pictures.doc
