"Rebuilding New Orleans on the Promises of God"

The Christian Church Disciples of Christ

As Christians we affirm that Jesus Christ is the son of God and we are all God's Children.

We practice open communion, all who are believers are welcome, celebrated weekly in worship.

Disciples are called together around one essential faith: belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  Persons are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, study and prayer and are expected to extend that freedom to others.

We practice Baptism by immersion.  In Baptism our old self-centered life is set aside and a new life in Jesus Christ begins.  Although Disciples practice Baptism by immersion other baptisms are accepted.

Both ministers and lay people lead in worship, service and spiritual growth.
