Angel Food is a nationwide, non-profit, non-denominational ministry offering grocery relief to anyone in the community wanting to cut back on their grocery costs. There are no applications, no limitations and no qualifications. Everyone is welcome to purchase this high quality food! Each month, on the specified order dates you may come to St. Charles Ave Christian Church to order and pay for your Angel Food. A single box, which would feed a family for about a week or a single senior citizen for about a month, is $30. Special boxes may be purchased along with your single box. Each special is approximately $20. You must pay for your food when you order it. We accept cash and food stamps (EBT). You will be given a receipt when you order, if you don't have your receipt you don't pick up your food. Due to the amount of people coming in and out this is the most efficient way for us to keep track of the food going in and out. Pick up days will always be on a Saturday morning. You will be given a time frame in which you can pick up your food. If you do not come in the time frame given to you the food you ordered will be donated to another in need. Please call Ashley at 504-899-6301 if you would like more information on Angel Food. You may come by the church, 6200 St. Charles Ave NOLA (stop 33 or 34 on the streetcar), any Sunday at 2pm to place your order and pay for your food. Please note: Parking around the church is limited, please plan your trip accordingly.

Come to the church on the pick up day at the time specified. Please bring a medium sized box, large cooler, or laundry basket with you. 6. You will then be directed through the distribution line and someone will help you to take your box to your vehicle. Don't Forget! No receipt, No food! If you don't come on the day and time specified your food will be donated. We cannot store anyone's order to be picked up at a different time. Bring something to put your food in, we do not provide boxes.
Frequently Asked Questions 1. Do I have to order in person? The short answer is yes. We do this because the church must order and pay for the food in advance...just like you do. If you have a physical limitation or special circumstance you may call Ashley, our Angel Food Coordinator and explain. Remember, we are governed by the Angel Food home office. These are Angel Food's rules, not ours. 2. Why do I have to pay in advance? Because we have to pay in advance. If we allowed people to order without paying up front it could end up costing the church a lot of money if they don't pick up their food. 3. What if I can't be there to pick up my food on the distribution day/time? If you cannot be there to pick up your food at the specified date/time you may give your receipt to a trusted friend to pick up for you or it may be better to simply not order that month. Remember, we cannot store your order for pick up at a later date/time. 4. Why can't you keep my food so I can pick it up later? Much of the food is frozen. We do not have the freezer capacity to store food. 5. What happens if I don't pick up my food? It will be donated. Please remember...if you don't pick up your food you will not be given credit for the next month and your money cannot be refunded. You will be considered a good samaritan providing a box of food for someone in need. 6. What if I loose my receipt? You cannot pick up food without your receipt. Your purchase will be donated to someone in need. 7. Where are you located? At the corner of St. Charles Ave. and Henry Clay, near Loyola and Audobon Park. Stop 33 or 34 on the streetcar. 8. This is a great program, can I volunteer to help? Yes, Please! If you would like to volunteer call Ashley at 504-899-6301 and she will give you the details. You will need to fill out a volunteer application and you will then be placed with the appropriate team.
