MEMORANDUM
To: Armenian Evangelical Churches, North America
Attention: Pastor and/or Youth Leader
From: AMAA Headquarters
Date: January 28, 2008
Dear Friends:
The AMAA is organizing an internship program this summer with tentative dates of July 3-23, 2008.
With that in mind, we are looking for potential young men and women over the age of 18 who are interested and motivated to serve as well as learn of the AMAA’s work in Armenia and in 22 countries around the world.
The nature of this three week program involves an introduction to the work of the AMAA at their headquarters, in Paramus, NJ (1-2 days). The main focus of the program will be in Armenia allowing young adults an opportunity to participate in either an AMAA-sponsored construction project, or at one of the AMAA’s summer camps (12-14 days). The trip will conclude with site-seeing in Yerevan (4-5 days) in conjunction with the AMAA’s 90th anniversary trip to Armenia which is currently scheduled for July 14-23rd.
Depending upon a volunteer’s interests and skills, this summer’s options will be either a physical construction project at the Evangelical Church of Vanadzor, or participating at Camp Hankavan with Bible Study, music, sports, arts and crafts activities, etc. Conditions at either location are likely to be less than comfortable.
This is our first attempt at such a program and we need your timely responses so we may arrange appropriate accommodations. For the most part, the cost to each participant will be their airfare (approximately $1200-$1500 depending when booked) and spending money. The AMAA will provide housing and meals, as well as logistical support.
At this time, we are attempting to gauge the level of interest and ask for you to provide us with the names and contact information (phone # and email address) for those that maybe interested. Once details are finalized, they will be contacted and an information packet will be mailed to their home by March 15th.
Your cooperation and input is greatly appreciated, and needed, to help make this a reality for our young adults.
