It celebrates the interwoven themes of the fulfillment of Christ's ministry on earth, the uniting of all peoples and nations under God's loving purpose, and the revelation of the nature of the Kingdom ñ or in the words of the late theologian, Verna Dozier, the dream ñ of God. An Advent Wreath-making Workshop will take place next Sunday, November 29 (1 Advent) during refreshments. Learn how to make a fragrant Advent wreath, and use it at home to mark the journey through the Advent season. The greens will come from our own churchyard! Please bring a wreath form, if you have one. Wreath forms and candles will be available for purchase for any needing them; please contact Paulette Fontaine (617-783-0199, stslam@juno.com) this week so she can order them. We will also have available copies of prayers to say at home at candle-lighting. Mark your calendars now for an Advent mini-retreat that will take place here at St. Luke's & St. Margaret's on Sunday, December 13 from 12 noon-4 p.m.. The theme of the retreat will be "Hope", and our time together will begin with lunch in the Lower Hall and end with a celebration of Holy Eucharist at 5 p.m. in the church. Please feel free to invite friends to join us as we prepare in our hearts a home to receive our Savior. Eucharistic Visitor training will be offered on Saturday, December 12 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul (138 Tremont St., downtown Boston). Eucharistic Visitors bring Communion and the parish community to those who, because of sickness or disability, are unable to attend church services. This course meets the training requirements established by the Diocese. For more information, contact Connie Melahoures, Training co-ordinator, at 508-746-3805 or conmel@aol.com. Pledge envelopes are available at the back of the church for all who would like them. Please put a check beside your name when you take your set. Anybody who wishes to financially support the parish with a pledge can fill out a card, put it into the return envelope, and place it in the offering plate. Add your name to the list beside the number of your envelope set ñ envelopes are a handy way to keep track of your pledge and can also be mailed in. Raise funds for SLAM by using GoodSearch!
