Our Current Studies:
Currently, our topics of study are the book of Job and the Gospel of John. But it is Job I'd like to focus on during the Resurrection season. You see, Job suffered immensely at Satan's hands. And in some ways, it really reminds me of Jesus' suffering on the cross for us.
God declared Job righteous among men. Jesus was righteous and perfect among all of creation.
Job went through incredible agony, not because he had done anything wrong, but because God was proud of him and wanted to show him off. The indescribable suffering that Jesus went through was not because he did anything wrong, but because God loved us so much that He wanted to provide us with a way to eternal life.
Job did not know why he suffered, Jesus did know.
Job suffered to be an example to heavenly and earthly realms. Jesus suffered to free the us from the penalty of sin.
Thoughts to consider:
Why did God keep Job in the dark about his suffering?
When God declared Job righteous, did He mean perfect?
Was there a parallel in the ways Job's friends treated him and the way people treated Jesus?
Did God really love Job considering what he was put through?
What thoughts can you offer??
Why not bring them to the discussion boards?!
