What Dennis Union Church Means to Me

I was asked to speak about what Dennis Union Church means to me.  This place is like my second home.  I have been going to this church, without even knowing it, since I was four years old.  I went to the nursery school downstairs for two years.  Of course then all I knew was that my mom dropped me off and picked me up from school.  I wasn’t really aware it was here!  I have also been having Girl Scout meetings here at church since fourth grade.

When I joined Dennis Union Church about a year ago, I was a little nervous because I had just left the only church I had ever known.  But people here were so nice and welcoming, it felt like I had already made a whole new church family.  Since I’ve joined, I’ve had the opportunity to usher, join Chimers, host coffee hour, help out at the auction, be involved with Eventide Arts and attend Sunday School.  I’ve also been in my first pageant here.  Because of all these things, I’ve met a lot of people from the church.

One thing I miss from my old church is that we don’t have a youth group here.  I was very involved in the youth group at my old church.  We did a lot with helping our community in a lot of different ways, and we did a lot of mission work.

I miss these youth groups very much, and I hope that everyone will please consider supporting the youth of our church with your pledges, so that maybe we can start a youth group here some day.  Thank you!
