Our Welcome Statement
Welcome to The First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Bedford (United Church of Christ). We welcome those of every color, culture, creed, physical and mental ability, sexual orientation and gender identity, and economic circumstance; we welcome young and old, married an single people into full participation in the life and ministry of this church. We celebrate family in all of its diverse forms, and support all loving and committed relationships. We rejoice in the presence of children among us.

We invite all to join in every aspect of the life and mission of this church. We commit ourselves to making justice and inclusion a reality in this congregation and in the world. We strive to serve others, and to love our neighbor as ourselves, as Jesus taught. We rely upon God's unconditional love and grace to be our help and guide.

Worship With Us

From Homecoming Sunday on September 13th through June, worship services are held in the Sanctuary at 10:00 a.m., followed by fellowship coffee hour. We provide child care for infants and small children.

Classes for 3s and Pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten through 8th grade attend part of worship before going to their classes (from Labor Day through mid-June). However, children and youth are always welcome to stay through the entire service. Materials for quiet activity are available in the pews and in the entry area.

We are handicapped accessible.

Snow Policy

Just a reminder that if Bedford Schools are closed, we also close the church office. If there is a snowstorm on a Sunday, we put the news on the website and publicize it on Channels 4 and 7, and on e-mail.

Newsletters Available Via E-Mail

We are now able to send our monthly newsletter to you electronically. In our attempt to be more Eco friendly, we will save money by reducing our use of paper, printing, postage and return notices. If you would like to receive your newsletter via email, please email your request to us at fchurchb2@verizon.net. The newsletter file will be a compressed pdf file easily read by Adobe Reader. Most people have that free application on their computers already. The file may also be printed on 8.5 x 11" paper on your own printer.
