Well, the dust has settled, the crumbs have been swept or vacuumed up, some of the large flocks of swans have swum away (or been packed away for yet another year!), and we survived another busy but successful Turkey Dinner and Fall Fair! Our net proceeds were over $8,800 before the post fair sales in the Yuletide room on Veterans Day. Bring your friends to the After Fair Sale on December 9th, CMS Sunday, to raise our total to the $10,000 goal!
Special thanks to an awesome Turkey Dinner crew of hiking buddies: Jane Taylor, Denise Barnet, Lisa Baylis, Deb Caban, Mary Criscione, Connie Matheson, Judy Morgan-Cleveland, along with Julie Braschler and Carol Jamison, Kathy Harris and Cheryl Hill, Sue Pepin and Lisa Sackett, and the clean up crew of Thomas and Dawn, Norm and Sally, Kathy Register, along with the strong backs of Bruce and Brian Blake, John Caban, Sam Foltz, and the middle schoolers.
Also, thanks to Lois Rose and her pie making/baking crew, to the pumpkin pie bakers, and to the terrific turkey cookers. Everything was delicious and enjoyed enormously by a sell-out crowd! We would like to extend special thanks to all of the table chairs, who did a fantastic job in running and staffing their tables with little guidance, but lots of experience and finesse! Many thanks to John G. and his set-up crew, Tom Crowther and his clean-up crew (John Crockett, you can vacuum my house anytime!), Dick Tyler and Jean Amato and crew for managing all of those White Elephants, Fred Webb and Lisa Sackett for organizing Used Books and Games, the high schoolers and middle-schoolers and their fearless leaders for running the Candy/Popcorn booth and the new Photo booth, Sonja Lee for massages (ahhh…), Torvy and Al Hurd for their tireless efforts with Etcetera and Silent Auction, Pam Turner’s fancy Gift Baskets, Thomas’ Soda stand, Phyllis Cooke et al in Handicrafts, Donna Dobbins and Sue Crowther stitching Potholders, Lois Rose and crew at the Food Table, Kate Trigg and Carol Jamison for a tasty Soup and Dessert, Brent Harris and Nancy D’Andragora for Sat. Snack Bar, the incredibly creative Yuletide ladies: Kathy Harris, Connie Matheson, Claire Maxon, and Sue Wingfield, and certainly last but not least, the delightful decorating crew of Allyson Printz and Donna Schroff, greeters Ryan Libby and Ann Reynolds, and Treasurer Woody Woodford and his fellow counters! I hope I didn’t miss anyone, if I did, my sincere apologies!
This certainly is an all-church event that takes tremendous energy and effort from many people and we could not have done it without you. Many thanks again!
Dotty Blake and Julie Braschler,
Fall Fair Co-Chairs
