New Mashpee Congregational Church United Church of Christ Gathering since Jan. 15,2007 Where are you meeting? We worship at the Meetinghouse at the Popponesset Marketplace in New Seabury. Sunday services begin at 9:30 AM. Do you have land? We do not have land at this time. However, there have been conversations with the principals of Mashpee Commons regarding a possible site in the East Steeple Street/Trout Pond extension. possible construction is several years away. Does Mashpee really need another church?Our new community church is proving to be a real asset to the Town. Our emphasis on a strong music program is attracting much interest. What specific things are you doing? We sponsor open houses, hold gatherings and special events such as the Christmas Eve Community Candlelight Service and the Easter sunrise service. We have over 20 people participating in the Friday evening dinner program at the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod. We have a Prayer Shawl Knitting Group and a newly formed choir both of which meet on Wednesday evenings in the Meetinghouse. How may I get involved? That’s easy!
