Rev. Jim Scovil
At age 64, Jim brings over 35 years of parish ministry experience to the newly gathering Mashpee congregation. This is his second new church start, the first being in Green Valley/Sahuarita AZ in the mid 1990’s. That church is flourishing and you may read about it by visiting: www.thegoodshepherducc.com
Most recently prior to coming to Mashpee, Jim received specialized training as an Intentional Interim Minister and served as Interim Pastor in the Dennis Union Church on Cape Cod and the First Congregational Church in Bellevue, WA on the east side of Seattle.
Jim was raised in the First Congregational Church of Montclair, NJ where he enjoyed the Pilgrim Fellowship youth groups, great preaching and outstanding music. His love of the Congregational heritage has remained strong over the years, while he has been consistently involved in the emerging United Church of Christ which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Jim and his wife, Diane, live in Centerville. They have three grown children and five grandchildren.
