Vacation Bible Camp - Summer 2009

The theme this year was "God's Creation, Our Wonder and Care."  On Monday, the kids visited a local pond where they gathered plant and insect samples for observation and discussion.  Of course, every living thing was returned to the pond before we departed.  The kids learned how to craft animal puppets on Tuesday.  They made fish, dragonflies, moose and bear.  Some children made models of the sun, the source of light and life for everything on Earth.  Wednesday was free-style clay day.  The kids used white and grey clay to make everything from bowls to animals.  Thursday was the last day of Vacation Bible Camp.  We visited a local perennial flower garden, and played water games on the lawn while we were there.

This important event would not have been possible without the generosity and dedication of our hosts and presenters, our teachers and counselors, our helpers and planners, and the people who donated snacks.  Thanks to all of you for helping to make Vacation Bible Camp 2009 a success.  We look forward to doing it again next summer.
