Youth Activities

Junior and Senior High Youth Curriculum

Youth in grades 6 through 10 are invited to participate in Sunday morning youth classes.  Using the 3-phased curriculum entitled "Journey to Adulthood", the students are divided into grades 6 and 7 for phase 1, called Rite 13; and grades 8 through 10 for phase 2, called J2A.  The classes meet from 9:30-10:30 AM, on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th (and 5th) Sundays of every month.  Youth are invited to participate in communion worship on the 1st Sunday of every month, either with the adults in the New Sanctuary or with the Sunday School children in the Old Sanctuary.

Senior High Youth Group:

Teens in 9th through 12th grade meet as a group twice a month. There they will find support and encouragement to be themselves and to grow through mission, faith and fun fellowship (event-based) activities.

2010 Youth Mission Trip

In consultation with the youth leaders and parents, the senior high youth have chosen Lincoln County, West Virginia as the site for our Summer 2010 mission trip. As in past years, this is a site organized and sponsored by YouthWorks. Our group will depart UCCB on Saturday, July 10, spend the night at a host church along the way, and arrive in West Virginia to begin our work on Sunday, July 11. The group will depart West Virginia on Friday, July 16, spend the night somewhere en route back to MA, and arrive back at UCCB on July 17. Twenty spaces have been reserved for this trip. For more information, contact Susie Allen.

Previous Youth Missions Trips have included missions in Toronto, Canada; New York, NY; and Reston, Virginia. This trips include missions work with the homeless, diasabled, and others in need. The trips not only provide our youth with a greater purpose through helping others, but are also wonderful bonding experiences with each other and the missions leaders. In additional to missions trips beyond Boxoborough, the Youth Group participate in many local missions in the greater Boston area such as CityReach and the Arlington Street Church food programs.
