Camp Becket—October 2 – 4

Join us for this annual youth retreat at Camp Becket! We’ll participate in high and low ropes activities; games; go swimming and boating; enjoy the sauna by the lake; watch a film; worship; have fun!

Youth Coffee House—scheduled for Saturday, October 24

Thanks to the great success of last Spring’s youth coffee house, we’ve reserved a date for a youth coffee house for this Fall. This will be one of the first mission trip fundraisers.

Worship at Common Cathedral—Sunday, October 25

Travel to Boston Common to worship with our CityReach friends at their church, Common Cathedral. We will also provide lunch for them after worship.

College Care Package Assembly—Sunday, November 1

Stay after church, have some pizza, and assemble care packages to be sent to our college friends and family. It’s mid-term time by then, and they will really need some goodies and greetings from you!

Mission Trip Slide Show and Reception—Sunday, November 8

If you went on the mission trip to Toronto, this is your time to reminisce together and share stories with our guests about this summer’s trip. If you were not able to go on the trip, this is the time to get psyched for joining the trip for summer 2010. We hope to be able to announce next summer’s mission trip destination at this event.

Arlington Street Church Supper—October 9, November 13, December 4

Join us as we travel to Boston to help serve dinner to those in need. We will leave UCCB at 3:45 p.m., and return by 9:00 p.m. Those who have done this in the past will tell you it is a powerful experience to interact with the guests who attend this dinner. The Supper program is well-organized and very rewarding. A reminder and details will come via email each month.

Mission Trip 2010

We plan to spend some time at Camp Becket talking about next summer’s mission trip destination. If you have some thoughts and ideas about this and are unable to go to Camp Becket, please contact Susie by October 1.

Summer 2009 Youth Mission Trip to Toronto, Canada

After careful consideration and enthusiastic conversation, the youth and their families have chosen Toronto, Canada as the site for our Summer 2009 mission trip. As in past years, this is a site organized and sponsored by YouthWorks. Our group will depart UCCB on Saturday, July 11, spend the night at a host church along the way, and arrive in Toronto to begin our work on Sunday, July 12. The group will depart Toronto on Friday, July 17, spend the night at Susie’s family place in the Adirondack Mountains, and arrive back at UCCB on the evening of July 18. Fourteen spaces have been reserved for this trip, and we are on the waiting list for two additional spaces.  Scholarships are available by contacting Susie.
