    VIDEO:

    • End of the Spear Is a movie about Nate Saint, the founder of Mission Aviation Fellowship, Jim Elliot (2 year husband of Christian author Elisabeth Elliot), and four other men who were struck down in the prime of their lives by the Waodani Indians in Ecuador that they were trying to reach with the gospel. The Waodani tribes were having a civil war and the Ecuadorean governement was about to... never mind, I don't want to ruin the film for you. This is a must see film.

    • The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, is a fair representation of the books, although Disney's writers did sometimes put additional words in the character's mouths. This movie has no sexual content, no offensive language, and the only violence is that which occurs in the book. If you've read the book and would rather keep your own imagery in your head, then feel free to skip this one, but on the other hand, if you've not read the series of books, seeing the movie may lead you to checking out not only this book but the other six books in this excellent series originally intended for children.

    • Hangman's Curse The first Frank Peretti book to be set to film. Mr. Peretti even plays the eccentric scientist, Dr. Algernon. A must see film--read the book and enjoy the movie, now on DVD. Rated PG-13.

    • Left Behind A movie about one possible future from the pre-tribulation rapture position, based on the best selling book series by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins. Cloud Ten Pictures. The movie doesn't quite do the book justice, but worth a look anyway.

    • The Passion of the Christ Mel Gibson's graphic portrayal of the price Jesus paid to set us free. Now available on DVD in Widescreen or Fullscreen formats. Rated R for sequences of graphic violence, this film pulls no punches and sets a new standard for the Christian historical movie genre.

    • Time Changer Sets a new standard for the evangelical Christian movie genre.

    • ChristianCinema.com is a site totally dedicated to Christian media.

What's New?--Some Thoughts From Solomon...

2"Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless."
3What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun?
4Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.
5The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.
6The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.
7 All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.
8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.
11 There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow."
Ecclesiastes 1:2-11 [NIV]

Like Solomon, when, sooner or later, we are faced with our own mortality, we are forced to ask the greatest questions of life--Who am I? Why am I here, on Earth? Does God really exist, and if He does, why on Earth should He care about me?

At Cornerstone, our mission is to help you to discover the answers to these questions.

Here are some passages that will provide you the keys to understanding who you are, why YOU are important to God, that He really exists and that He cares ever so much about you. And so do we.

Romans 3:23

The work we do on earth will be paid for.

Romans 6:23

How is it possible to be saved? See: John 3:16

How can I? Romans 10:9

He waits for you...Revelation 3:20 Praise God! He is speaking to you now. The "door" in this passage is your heart.

If you can hear His voice, you can rest assured that you are one of His lost sheep, and He's just found you. All you need to do is to pray (talk to God) this prayer:

"Father in Heaven, I confess that I've not done the things you've asked me to do, and I've done so many things I know I shouldn't have. That makes me a sinner. I give all of these things to you. I give all the desires and weaknesses of my flesh to you, and I pray you'll take away my sins and evil desires from me.
Help me to know you more.
I want to invite your Son, Jesus Christ into my heart, and into my life right now. I want to make Him the Lord of my life, the Master of my will and Ruler of my desires. Let my thoughts be your thoughts, my meditations be your meditations, and my will be perfectly conformed to your will, so that I may serve you all of my days.
Fill me with your precious Holy Spirit, who will lead me in the paths of righteousness, and will teach me the meaning of your word the Bible. Amen"

If you prayed this prayer, or one like this just now, Congratulations, you're now a member of the family of God. You've been washed in the fountain, and cleansed by His blood.

You're probably also wondering what you should do next. First, we'd like to be able to rejoice with you as you embark on your new journey in Christ. If you'd like, feel free to give me, or Pastor Dave a telephone call. You can reach me at 410-760-2289. Pastor Dave can be reached at 410-757-3799.

Second, the Bible also instructs believers to "forsake not the assembling together of the bretheren," which is the reason we gather together for worship on Sunday mornings; as the disciples made it their custom following Jesus' miraculous resurrection from the dead on that first Easter morning nearly 2000 years ago.

Of course, we hope you'll want to worship with us. See the Schedule Page for more information about our worship schedule. And God Bless you.
