Baltimore County Baptist Church

Women of Worth

Here at BCBC we have a ministry dedicated specifically to women. It is called the "Women of Worth" or WOW. The purpose of WOW (as stated in our mission statement) is "to grow in our relationship with the Lord, to serve Him with our Christian sisters, and to praise and magnify the Lord Jesus Christ". Our theme verse is Colossians 3:16 - "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to the Lord." We normally meet in the Fellowship Hall at BCBC on the fourth Thursday evening of each month (except August) from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Each month's meeting has a theme, and all the activities for that meeting revolve around the theme. We conduct our business meeting, sing, have a devotion, listen to a special presentation and fellowship. Babysitting is provided for each meeting. Our monthly meetings are a wonderful time for the ladies of our church to relax and share prayer requests, needs, or praises, learn about areas of ministry around the church, and be spiritually enriched. We also sponsor various ministries and activities throughout the year such as bus trips, caroling at Christmas, shut-in visitation and gifts, card showers for those that are sick or discouraged and many other things. Some of the other highlights of the year are:

  • Secret Pals
  • Annual Tea Party
  • Ladies Spring Luncheon
  • Meet-A-Need Ministry
  • Ladies Retreat at Sandy Cove
  • Ladies Bible Study (both mornings and evenings)
  • Monthly Scripture Memory Challenge
  • Annual Cookie Tasting and Recipe Exchange

Nursery

A newly remodeled nursery awaits the very best care for your child. A separate crib and nursing room, crawler room and play room give your baby the protection and attention he/she needs. We know that caring about you begins with providing the best love and care to those most precious to you. Our nursery is well staffed with loving people so you can relax and have peace of mind in our worship service.

Music And Drama Program

Music and drama were used throughout the Scriptures to praise God, build up the people of God, and reach out to the lost around them. At BCBC we accomplish these same tasks through our ministries, which include: an adult choir, youth choir, children's choir, and a chamber orchestra. All of our groups present programs on a regular basis including new Christmas and Easter musicals for adults and kids each year, orchestral accompaniment each Sunday for hymns and praise songs, and a special overture at Christmas and Easter time. Our youth choir sings quarterly and helps out with the drama portions of many of our musicals. We have been blessed with many people who desire to use their gifts and talents for the Lord. Won't you come and join us as we lift up the name of the Lord!

The English as a Second Language program is held on Thursday evenings from 7PM to 8:30PM. This program is free of charge and welcomes all who desire to learn or refine their ability to speak and write the English language.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a caring ministry by trained lay people. Stephen Ministers are not counselors or therapists. Instead, they are caring Christian friends who can offer a confidential listening ear to help others through the tough times in life. Stephen Ministers are trained and supervised in their ministry. If you or someone you know are going through a tough time and could use a caring friend, call Pastor and he will assign a Stephen Minister.
