Sixth Annual Cedar Ridge Ride Thru History

On Saturday, August 26, 2006, Park Head UMC participated in the Sixth Annual Cedar Ridge Ride Thru History, sponsored by Cedar Ridge Ministries.  Some of our members opened their hearts with donations, others volunteered to serve at the Big Pool and the Licking Creek rest stops, and several took part in the rides.

Those who participated in the Family Bicycle Ride on the Western Maryland Rail Trail were Darl and Dorothy, Samantha, Rodney, Jan, Rich W., Pastor Scott and Joyce.  Rich H. and Tim rode support between the rest stops.  Riders had the option of traveling from Big Pool to Hancock or from Big Pool to Pearre.

Jill, Elizabeth, and Lizzie elected to walk a shorter version of the above routes, walking from Big Pool to Licking Creek and back.  They were pampered at the halfway point by Tom and Nancy who worked the Licking Creek Rest Stop.  Tom even let Lizzie browse through his Penn State newsletter and play in the back of his truck.

Jeff and Kay cruised along the Motorcycle Ride and met up with a few of the bicycle riders back at Cedar Ridge.

The Lord blessed the day’s events with sunshine and tolerable heat, which brought out a nice group of riders.  We are grateful to have the opportunity to help support the ministries of Cedar Ridge and look forward to next year's Seventh Annual Cedar Ridge Ride Thru History.
