Who is the Good Shepherd?

"I am the Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep." (John 10:14-15)

The words above introduce us to Him who is our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the One who loves us so much that He sacrificed gladly His own life on a cross that His sheep (you and I) might be saved for heaven and everlasting life! Because He died and rose again from the dead, all who believe and follow Him in faith will also overcome death and live with God forever.

The people of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church believe in the 'Good Shepherd', Jesus Christ, and seek to follow Him. We welcome you into our midst and invite you to join us in the regular worship and adoration of Him who offers salvation, comfort, and peace to all who place their confidence and trust in Christ.

Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church is a community of baptized believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We hold to the teachings of Holy Scripture as, also confessed in the Book of Concord.  We are affiliated with the Michigan District of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  We are a liturgical church.

Join us Sunday mornings to hear God's Word and receive God's mercy in the Gospel and Sacraments.

Good Shepherd is a liturgical church, following the Divine Services of the "Lutheran Service Book" as well as the Divine Service of "Hymnal Supplement '98". In our church music plays an intricate role. The organ is prevalent in the liturgy and other parts of both services. Most services use the "Lutheran Service Book" hymnal published in 2006. During Advent and Lenten Wednesday services we typically use "Hymnal Supplement '98".

If you are looking for that "old time religion", this is your home.
