A Church With A Heart Of Love

What About God?

If you don't know God personally and have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, we invite you to read through the following material to find out what it takes to be a Christian, what you can expect after becoming one and what you can do to grow in your faith.

Do you want to become a Christian?
It's as easy as A-B-C!

Admit that you have sinned

The Bible says "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) That means that none of us is good enough to make it to heaven on our own. Everyone - no exceptions - is a sinner.

Believe that Jesus died for you

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12) Because none of us is good enough on our own to come to God, He made a way for us. God sent His son Jesus to die for our sins. He died for you and me! We just need to believe that he did this for us.

Confess Jesus Christ as Lord

"If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10) If you will simply talk to God about these ABC's, and believe what you are saying, you will be a Christian! It is the best decision you will ever make! If you would like someone to pray with you or if you have prayed the ABC's, please give the church office a call.

How Can I Be Sure?
Faith, Facts & Feelings

Welcome to God's family! You may not feel any different right now, but according to God's Word, if you really meant it when you prayed and asked Jesus to be your Lord, then you are definitely a child of God! Look at the facts...

FAITH

Faith is our confidence in certain truths. It is our belief in the truth of the Word of God. When we say we have faith in something, we are saying we believe it to be absolutely true and we are willing to take action based on that fact.

FACTS

A fact is something that we know to be true. When it is a fact based on God's Word, we know it is absolutely true. The fact is God cannot lie, and He does not change. His promise of salvation through Jesus Christ is as true today as it was when He first gave it.

FEELINGS

Our feelings are subject to circumstances and impressions. Our life in Christ can only grow if we place our faith in the facts of God's Word. This eternal decision is too important to be based on feelings or the opinions of others. Don't be misled by feelings that may change with the moment. Go for eternity with Christ!

What do I do NOW?
The BIG 3

It is very important to take action in your new life in Christ. You now have a PERSONAL relationship with Jesus. There are a few things that will strengthen your relationship from the very beginning.

Talk to Jesus everyday.

Prayer is the way you came into this great relationship, and it is one of the most important ways to maintain it. Prayer is nothing more than talking to Jesus, your Lord and best friend. You can tell Him anything. You don't have to use fancy words; just be yourself. Have a conversation with the Lord. Ask Him to lead you and help you to understand His will for your life. He will hear you!

Read the Bible.

The Bible is God's primary way of communicating with us. As you read you will better understand who He is and what He wants to do in your life. It will strengthen you and help you avoid temptation. You may want to start in the New Testament with the books of Mark and John. If you don't have a bible, check out this page.

Go to church.

It is also very important for you get into a good church. Here you will meet others who can help you learn more about being a Christian. If you do not have a home church, we welcome you to visit Glad Tidings Tabernacle. (please see our service schedule).
