ARE YOU…

STRUGGLING TO COME UP WITH A GIFT IDEA?

LOOKING FOR THAT ‘PERFECT’ GIFT?

HOPING TO GIVE A MEANINGFUL GIFT?

BELIEVING THAT WE HAVE TOO MUCH ‘STUFF’?

CONSIDER THIS………

SELECT A CHARITABLE GIFT IN HONOR OF THE RECIPIENT OR IN MEMORY OF A LOVED ONE

Alternate Gift Idea Program

Just as we enjoy planning for and exchanging thoughtful gifts with family and friends at Christmas time, there are other occasions throughout the year when we want to give a meaningful gift. Sometimes people are looking for ways to focus less on the material aspect of giving in order to share their blessings send good wishes.

Bethel’s Stewardship for Mission Committee is promoting awareness of local, national and global needs so that people might consider gifts for these efforts. This brochure includes several suggestions for alternative giving in lieu of traditional gifts.

We encourage you to review the enclosed list of needs that can be filled on the local, national and global levels. Even if a monetary donation isn’t possible, we encourage you to learn about the needs of others and pray for improved conditions.

Suggested Related Activities:

Families can research charitable giving together.

Want to suggest charitable giving in lieu of a gift for yourself?  Just say “I simply enjoy being with family and friends on (my birthday/this Christmas/Father’s Day…….).  Instead of a gift this year, please contribute to _____.”

Want to let someone know that a charitable gift has been made in their honor in lieu of a gift?  On the card, say “I made a contribution in your name (or in your honor) to _______ for _______.”

Please share other charitable gift ideas with the Stewardship for Mission Committee so we can expand the suggestion list.
