PRAYING FOR OUR TROOPS - Please remember our soldiers and their families as well as the families who have lost loved ones. They are serving and fighting for our freedom.
Altar Flowers: To have altar flowers, you now have to call The Dollar Depot or the floral shop of your choosing to have flowers delivered to the church.
Bethel Men-are now offering rides to anyone who needs one to get to worship at Bethel. There is a sign up sheet in the entry or you can call Mike Korczak @ 782-2564.
Sharing Servants- The church is a family where each person has a vital role in its ministry. Participation by everyone in some meaningful way gives a feeling of belonging to the family of Bethel and will be a blessing for you as well as those you serve.
Sharing Servants meet the third Sunday of the month during 11:00 Coffee Hour. If you are currently not involved with the sharing servants program, we would love to have you become part of this wonderful program. To become involved please let Audrey Olson or the office know. Thank you for your contribution to the family of Bethel!

The Greenbush Public Library now has eAudiobooks that you can download from your home computer! It is very easy to get started and the books are compatible with MP3 and iPod. Call or stop by if you have any questions. All those who sign up for an account between now and Dec. 16 will be entered in for a drawing that will be held at the annual Christmas Open House at the library in December.
We are MISSING two long handled slotted ladles from Dumpling Day. These ladles were borrowed and must be returned to the owners! PLEASE CHECK ...if you have mistakenly got these mixed in with your items brought home from Dumpling Day, please bring them to the church office as soon as possible to be returned to the owners! Simply Giving Program: 8 families are enjoying the ease of using the Simply Giving Program, where your offering will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account and deposited in Bethel’s account on the 15 th of each month. Contact Tamara in the church office if you would like to enroll in the program, or if you have questions.
Thank Offering- is still being collected. Please place your Thank Offering Envelopes in the basket under the balcony stairs.
Estimate of Giving Cards will be accepted through Sunday, December 21. Simply complete the card to indicate your estimated financial support of Bethel’s ministry in 2010, seal it in a self-addressed envelope, and drop in the offering plate or leave at the office. (A supply of cards and envelopes is at the ushers' table.)
Pathways needs your help! At present they are running a deficit of $56,000.00. In addition, they are holding payables of $50,990.00. They are asking for an immediate “bridge-gift”. Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $600.00 by Thrivent’s ‘GIVING PLUS’ program (provided you are a Thrivent member) through 12/31/09. There is additional information in a letter and “GIVING PLUS Gift Forms” on the closet doors in the Narthex.
We are planning a New Member Sunday early in the new year, most likely the end of February. If you know of someone who is 1) new in the community, 2) doesn’t have a church home or 3) is searching for a new church home, please call the church office with their names, or talk to Pastor Mark. Pastor Mark intends to schedule a 2-session class for new members in preparation for New Member Sunday.
November is National Home Care and Hospice Month. Please join us as we gather to reflect and remember the individuals you have loved and lost and the changes the year has brought. Service of Remembrance Monday, Nov 30, 5:30 pm. Service will be held at the LifeCare Medical Center/Altru Main Lobby-Roseau. All denominations are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones which will be displayed at this Service of Remembrance. Presented by LifeCare Hospice. Soup and refreshments will be served following the service.
LifeCare Greenbush Manor “Relay for Life Team” Fall or Holiday Basket Silent Auction Fundraiser is Nov 9th-Nov 23rd. Baskets will be on display in the nursing home lobby. A visible bidding form will be available for each basket. Bid as often as you wish on as many baskets as you want. Winning bidders will be notified after 10 am Monday, November 23rd.

-Getting ready for Dumpling Day. They are searching for potatoes…there was an article in the Watch for potatoes to be given away, BLCW will be checking this out.

-Bethel Women went through Parsonage & came up with a list of things to do.
Building and Grounds:

Education: The new curriculum is here, thought that it will be much better than the previous curriculum.
-5th grade has first communion classes this week, 1st communion will be Sunday.
-9-8th grade & parents have been met with for confirmation and are ready to go.
-Rally Sunday will be this Sunday
LYO: LYO will do sermon on Sunday.
Memorial: N/A
Stewardship for Mission: Working on Rally Sunday presentation on “Feed My Starving Children” during Rally Sunday program.
-Stewardship program will begin Reformation Sunday 10/25/09.
-Meat Raffle tickets will be available at cashiers table on Feed The Hungry Sale, and during Dumpling Day.
Worship & Music: The hymnals have been stamped.
-Discussion was held on possibly donating the “With One Voice” hymnals to a church in Iowa. The person who donated the hymnals will be contacted and asked if it would be alright to donate them to someone else.
Old Business:
Fuel fund raiser-Garner & Stuart Eeg donated a ¼ beef to be raffled off, Mike Korczak will donate a pork bundle. There will be two winners. Mark Miller will be doing the cutting and wrapping of the beef.
Call Committee- A Congregational Meeting was discussed to be held 9/27/09. At this meeting, a 2/3 majority will be needed to approve a candidate, and a majority to approve the compensation package. A motion to set a Congregational Meeting for 9/27/2009 for the purpose of calling a new pastor, and to accept the compensation package to be presented to the congregation was made by Dennis Olson, second by Glenn Darst…all in favor, none opposed, motion carried.
Parsonage Project:
A motion was made by Carol Novacek, second by Karen Stephens to establish a Parsonage Committee. The Parsonage Committee will go through once a year, or every six months to check the state of the Parsonage. People willing to serve on committee…Karen Stephens, Carolyn Eeg, Jan Wollin, Tony McLean.
-Carolyn has found light fixtures for the dining room/living room….checking with Marty to see if lights have been ordered yet.
-Kitchen-estimated will cost $1500.00 to fix kitchen
-The family room carpets have been cleaned and look pretty good.
-Steps are rotten, Egg’s will donate a set.
-Possibility of cutting a pass-through in wall in kitchen

Pastor Nancy: Pastor Nancy said that she would like to see a master yearly calendar hanging with all of the yearly events marked on it.
-Pastor Nancy stated that coordination between committees needs to be improved on.
-Stated that the Synod is doing “Master of Heart” in 1st Lutheran in Karlstad 10/29…there will be discussion on financial stewardship and discipleship.
