BCC's Upcoming Events

Journey with Christ through Lent

Do you want to be a part of a praying community, but feel hesitant to pray out loud?  Or are you eager to learn how to pray in deeper ways?

As part of our community’s Lent observance, we will be offering special times of prayer.  Each session will focus on three practices of lent: repenting, remembering, and preparing.  Our prayer times will include readings, music, and meditations as well as times for silence and intercessions for various ministries of the church.  You are welcome to come to any or all of the sessions.  If you have never been part of a prayer group you are especially invited to come and experience the richness of God’s people praying together.  Prayer sessions will be on Sundays, March 20 and 27 and April 3 and 10 at 4pm.  Contact Renee Franzen if you have any questions, 763-535-6305.

Adult Formation Class

Sundays, (9:00 a.m.), the Adult Formation class will begin the third book in the Apprentice Series, The Good and Beautiful Community.  This study will help us focus on developing our spiritual life together and moving toward fulfilling the second half of the great commandment: to love our neighbors as ourselves.  This is a great time to begin attending the class, especially if you have never stopped in.  We always enjoy interesting conversation, thoughtful Bible Study, and the real joy of being God’s people together living for the Kingdom of Christ.  Join us, or contact Renee Franzen if you have any questions, 763-535-6305.  We’d love to have you there.

New Member Class

Would you like to learn more about the Covenant Church? Are you interested in church membership? A Membership Class will be offered during the 9:00 hour on Sundays, March 20 and 27 and April 3. If you would like to attend, please indicate this on your attendance slip or contact the church office, 763-535-6305.

Seasonal Choir

Lift up your voices in celebration during Brookdale’s Easter Cantata. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please plan to commit to all rehearsals. Sign up online – click on the link on the Brookdale Church website, www.brookdalecovenant.org, or sign up in the church foyer. For more information, contact director Jessica Skaalerud, 763-213-9569.

Visiting the homebound friends of our church family is a wonderful way to keep them connected to our congregation. If you visited one this past week, please note their name on your attendance slip. This will help the pastors and parish nurse to plan their visits. Thank you for ministering to our church family in this way.

Speech/Debate Tournament Judges Needed

The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association is looking for people over the age of 18 to judge the Region V Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament at Brookdale Covenant Church on April 7 - 9. Experience with debate or speech is helpful but not necessary. Expect to commit for a minimum of 3 hours. Once you receive the short training sessions for both events, you can judge as many or as few as you like. If you are interested, register at www.ncfcajudges.com . We look forward to seeing you! (Vern Heglund’s grandkids are participating in this tournament!)
