COMMUNITY  "Love your neighbor as yourself”  (Matthew 22:39). Living in community is more than a weekly gathering. Community is where people can "spur one another on toward love and good deeds" (Hebrews 10:24) and where the world can actually see God's grace, love, mercy and forgiveness in His followers. Community means that we live out Christ’s words, “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:34-35).

Nothing can replace community as God intended it. We are committed to being a place where all can experience the wonder of living in community.

Striving to live by Holy Manners!

Love must be sincere. Romans 12:9

So easily our life together can be stifled by our actions and our words. When Christians let the habits and the manners of the world become the guiding actions, we no longer are a healing and healthy place. This is the reason Redeemer's leadership has been looking at what are the “Holy Manners” called for by Scripture. How does the Bible call us to live with each other so that we help one another and minister in strength? What are the table manners for living at the Communion Table of Christ? In summary:

  • Listen to each other and hold private information in confidence.
  • From a Biblical base of truth, deal directly with each other.
  • Always be gentle with others and seek ways to build up.
  • Use words and actions to care for others and not judge.
  • Choose a humble temperament that is willing to share your own weaknesses and failures, and is ready to forgive others.
  • Participate freely in the Body of Christ, praying for one another and using your gifts and talents to God’s glory.

We continue to try to live so that Redeemer Covenant Church becomes a healthy place where “Holy Manners” breathe fresh air into our life together.

Peace in Christ,
Pastor Steve
