Worldwide Church of God - Rochester, MN
Living and Sharing the Gospel

Worship Services

What should you expect from our Worship service?

Your worship will start with singing praise to our Creator Savior and will include prayer, scripture reading, devotional reading, a message (sermon), offering (visitors are not expected to give), communion (all who proclaim Jesus as their Lord and Savior are welcome to the table - we hold communion on the first Sunday of the month in addition to the annual observance of our Lord's death).

It is the goal of the worship leader to bring the congregation into the presence of God through true worship and devotion. It is our prayer that after we arrive in His presence, we are changed to become more like Him.

Discipleship Classes

What are Discipleship Classes?

A discipleship class is Christian learning for adults. Different studies will go on through the year ranging from salvation, stewardship, marriage, parenting, financial management, spiritual gifts, knowing the enemy (Satan) and many more.

Discipleship classes are generally held starting at in the Library; please visit the Friendship/Information table for the Discipleship Class details that are currently in progress.

Children's Church

What is Children's Church?

Children’s church is a place that the kids can go to receive a message that is tailored to their individual age level.

The children will worship with the congregation during the first part of the service until the song or hymn just before the sermon/message, and then they will break for their message time. They will return at the close of the worship service.

Our teachers are thrilled to share and learn with the children.

Age levels go from nursery to teen. (The nursery is available at the start of the worship service)

Our teachers are held to the highest standards and receive continued training and have criminal background checks performed; in addition, there is never one adult alone with the children there are always at least two adults with the kid’s.

Small Groups

What are Small Groups?

Small Groups are a very warm and personal way to learn and share in the Christian walk. Small Groups are generally twelve or under in the number of participants and usually a collection of friends and friends of those friends.

A small group has a host or hostess and a facilitator in addition to the other members of the small group. They will meet at a time that is convenient for those that form that group and will study a variety of topics together in addition to participating in other activities; like grilling, bowling, prayer walking, etc, whatever the group may be led to do for the members of the group and the community they are based within.

We encourage you to look into one of our current small groups. They range from during a weekday to a Friday evening to a Saturday afternoon.

Parent's Night Out

What is Parent's Night Out?

Parent's Night Out is the first Friday of each month and it is an opportunity for parent's to drop off their kid's for an evening of fun, snacks, movie and entertainment. Parents can leave and enjoy a night out together, go shopping, relax or whatever they want while their kid's are enjoying a night of fun with their friends in a Christian focused environment.

Parent's, you are welcome to stay and fellowship with the other parent's that stay for the camaraderie of the other adults too.

Parent's Night Out is led by our Children's Ministry Team and all have had criminal background checks performed in addition to continued education and there are always at least two adults present at any activity.

Membership Classes

What are Membership Classes?

Membership classes are designed for those that want to make the Rochester Congregation of the Worldwide Church of God their church home.

Visitors that attend can request Associate status and they will be subscribed to the publications of the denomination and the local church. At any point after that the associate member may request to become a member. After making that request classes will begin.

What are the classes about?

There are two segments to the membership classes.

  • Denomination Statement of Beliefs
  • Baptism

Denominational Statement of Beliefs is meant to answer any questions concerning those statements (The statement of beliefs may be viewed online on our "What We Believe" page). After we discuss the Statement of Beliefs we discuss baptism. Baptism performed by another denomination is usually acceptable. If baptism is requested, the Worldwide Church of God's general practice is by immersion.
