Since its inception, Tabernacle of Prayer has been an active member of the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.), currently under the leadership of Bishop Charles Blake. It serves in the Second South Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of presiding Bishop A. V. Jordan, and locally as members of the Hattiesburg East District under the leadership of presiding Superintendent Willie Clark. The senior pastor of Tabernacle of Prayer is Elder Micah J. Scott, SrAll ministers of the church seeking ordination are ordained through the Church of God in Christ, Inc, one of the oldest and largest Pentecostal body of believers in the world. The Church of God in Christ is a church of the Lord Jesus Christ in which the Word of God is preached, ordinances are administered and the doctrine of sanctification of holiness is emphasized as being essential to the salvation of mankind.
