Serving - Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church

This is the ultimate goal of any church and any Christian: to share the love and goodness of God with the people around them in practical ways. Everything else leads up to this. At Beautiful Savior, we try as much as possible to serve as teams, and we have plenty to choose from. And new teams start as people see needs that grab their hearts!

Sunday mornings

A variety of teams serve every Sunday, as we invite friends and family to come experience the generous love of God. Greeter teams help people feel welcome and provide coffee and drinks at the snack table. Volunteers care for babies in the nursery and creatively teach kids alittle about Lutherans and a lot about Jesus. Musicians and sound technicians help us feel the music and get the message. Setup and teardown crews turn a worship center into a fellowship hall… and back into a worship center. These teams help us serve our guests and each other… and they have fun doing it!

Out the front door and about

Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth.” So let’s get out of the saltshaker! We reach out to serve those around us in a variety of ways. Some are annual events, like the Olive Branch Festival in the Park, the Angel Tree at Christmas time, or the OktoberFest day of fun in October. Others are ongoing. Here are two or three that we know are happening…

As part of the Olive Branch Christian Community Coalition, Beautiful Savior volunteers to deliver meals to the shut-ins of Olive Branch, MS on the last Sunday of each month. Our church supplies the meals for about 135 people once a year from our very own kitchen. 18 churches form OB3C and have approximately a dozen locations that are served. We currently are delivering to the Rolling Hills Apartment complex and have over the years developed a personal relationship with most of the residents we visit. more...
