What is the 10:15 a.m. Blended Liturgical Service?
This service follows the traditional liturgy of the Lutheran Church, with some creative changes. These changes highlight a season or emphasize a theme for a given Sunday. The hymnal, Lutheran Worship, and a hymnal supplement are used as the source for most of the hymns. This is an informal, easy to follow worship service in which nearly all of the service is outlined in the pre-printed program that is given to each person as he and she enters the church. Dress is casual and child care is provided.
Why do we celebrate Holy Communion?
What does communion do?
It is a meal given to us for the forgiveness of sins, the strengthening of our faith, and the building up of the family of Christ until the day that he returns. We trust in the words of scripture, “for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:28). When Jesus says covenant he is saying this is my last will and testament so don't mess with it, but take it as precious gift which has been given to you. The Lord's Supper is therefore celebrated each 2nd and 4th Sunday, at the 10:15 A.M. service. We come forward to receive the body and blood of Christ by His invitation and His command, "Do this in remembrance of Me".
Why do we use a variety of hymns?
People who join Beautiful Savior come from many backgrounds. We therefore aim for a variety of hymns from many sources, styles, and centuries. The variety of styles in the vocal and instrumental music also helps to meet the needs and touch the hearts of all of our people.
What is fellowship?
Before and Directly after the 10:15 a.m. service, we serve coffee and light refreshments. This is an excellent time to get to know church members and guests. We all enjoy the excitement of experiencing God with a large crowd of people at the weekend celebration. Why not enjoy a similar experience with a smaller crowd of people during the week? In a Small Group we learn more about being surrendered and transformed and what it means to love God and love others. It also gives us an opportunity to live out what we learn. Small Groups reach out to their neighborhoods by offering a helping hand to those in need and showing God's love to a neighbor through acts of kindness. Ideally, our groups are organized geographically to foster a real sense of community. Living close together makes building relationships much easier. It gives you an opportunity to share more life experiences outside of your group meeting. There are community groups every night (and some during the day) of the week – there’s one perfect
for you!
