Homecoming!!!!

Words cannot express the experience that we had in the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2006.  I have not seen anything like it at Saint Paul in a very long time.  Reverend Eric  Billups and his wife, Reverend Myra Billups ushered in the presence of the Lord Sunday morning.  That presence broke yokes; set captives free; and just took us to a level that was unspeakable.

In the morning Pastor Billups text came from 2 Kings 22:1-11.  The title of his sermon, "The Restoration of the Church."   It is more than time that we check ourselves and decide whether or not our own motives are sincere.  Though we may do things to cause others to label us spiritual superstars, God knows the truth....He knows our hearts.  That is why it is important to make sure that we are cultivating spiritual hearts.  God gets the glory!  Rev. Billups also came from Matthew 16th chapter.

We are to embrace restoration by (1)  having a spirit of repentance; (2)  filling our empty space with spiritual t hings; (3) continuing in the Apostle's Doctrine; (4) breaking bread with other believers; and (5) refusing to quit praying.

In the afternoon, Pastor Myra Billups' text came from the story of the prodigal son.  The Title of her message:  "Don't Hate, Celebrate."  She took us into a thought about the other son.  If we consider him, just what characteristics did he display?  Jealousy? Ungratefulness? Unforgiveness?  We should examine ourselves to make sure that we are walking right with God.  There is no time to point out the shortcomings of others.  We must get the beam out of our own eyes, and work toward what is most important.....our walk with God.
