Rev. James A. Torrence - Senior Pastor
"I want to serve you." Pastor James was called as our senior pastor on December 18, 2002. We are looking to James as our shepherd who will feed the sheep just as Jesus commanded Peter. One amazing fact about a good shepherd is that the shepherd knows his sheep because the shepherd "smells" like his sheep. A shepherd is never far from his sheep! The shepherd goes where his sheep go and keeps a watchful eye for their safety. We trust that God has given us Pastor James to do this remarkable job in His sted. Pastor James is a 1987 Graduate of Northern Nash Senior High School in Nashville, NC. Before entering the ministry he spent 13 years as a professional bluegrass musician, playing on the road and working as a highly sought after studio musician. He attended UGA (GO DAWGS!) and graduated from Crossroads Biblical Seminary with a Masters degree in Theology. Pastor James continues his love of music as Dobro player for the award winning bluegrass gospel group HARVEST WIND. He is married to his best friend and the love of his life Tami, together they have four children - Mindy, Amanda, Brynn & Christopher.
Rev. Bob Hager - Associate Pastor
Thompson Memorial Evangelical Methodist Church is proud to have Preacher Bob as an Associate Pastor. Preacher Bob has received the call to work along side our pastor, James Torrence, in building the Kingdom of God through this church. We anticipate a sense of renewed passion in our worship as Pastor James and Preacher Bob lead us. Preacher Bob and Mrs. Helen are staples of the Denver community. Preacher Bob has been a member and full time pastor of Thompson Memorial throughout the past 50 years. His passion and love for God and his church is evident in his preaching.
