II Timothy 2:19                                        “Firm on the foundation”

II Timothy 2:19 - Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

(He knows every saint, He knows every situation)

The foundation must be strong in order to support the weight of the roof, walls, and flooring. If the foundation isn’t sure (STRONG) it does not matter how good the building looks, or how big the building is….It will not stand.So many Ministries, and Methods have been built very large in so many ways, but if it is not built upon JESUS it will fall!

Psalms 127:1 - Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

* Even when I stumble – The foundation is sure

So many times we try. .instead of trusting

I Corinthians 10:12 - Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall .  

Proverbs 4:19 - The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble .

Today we stumble around, and fumble around because we have left the foundation! 

* Even when I stray – The foundation is sure

A plain path is set before us, but we want to do it our way! We stray when it’s our way!

Isaiah 53:6 - All we like sheep have gone a stray ; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all

I Peter 2:25 - For ye were as sheep going a stray ; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls .

* Even when I sin– The foundation is sure Just Not believing God!

I John 1:9 - If we confess our sin s, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin s, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Before we were saved, Christ still loved us. After we are saved, Christ still loves us!!!!!

It is never a question of love (John 3:16) it is a question of confession. Dealing with saints here…When we do not confess our mess, we end up in a mess!

* Even when I suffer – The foundation is sure

II Timothy 3:12 - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution .  

Pain and problems will come! Being a saint does not gives us a easy out clause on suffering, but it does give us some assurance that he will not put more on us than we are able to bear.

I Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  

* Even when I sorrow – The foundation is sure Tears do come

Psalms 126:5 - They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

* Even when I stand – The foundation is sure

what few times we do stand true, it is still the Lord working through us

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. 

1 Corinthians 3:6 - I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.  

* Even when I struggle – The foundation is sure

Many times we struggle with life, but if you know Jesus as Lord, and savour your foundation is sure.

We often struggle in our walk, worship, and work for the Lord…just remember the foundation isn’t you but it is JESUS!

Luke 6:48 - He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Maybe you should double check your foundation….Just to make sure it is sure!
